2005 notes.

Diane de Belgrave 2003, Haut Medoc, 2-wine to Chateau Belgrave. EUR 8 in "Føtex". As both 2002 and 2003 vintages cost the same, I had to try both. The 2003 was a bit more purple red than the 2002 wine and had a good fruity bouquet. It was a full body wine and a bit more harmonious than the 2002 wine. The wine had a fine long taste of blackcurrant. There was no doubt, the 2003 wine was overall better than the 2002, even though both wine were fine. I think the 2003 wine will improve much more than the 2002 wine if stored some years. Buy now when they both are cheap! 9*
Diane de Belgrave 2002, Haut Medoc, 2-wine to Chateau Belgrave. EUR 8 in "Føtex". This wine had a nice red colour and a fine fruity bouquet. Even though it was a young wine it was fine after it was decanted. It was a medium body wine, a bit of acid though. The wine had a fresh taste of berries. 9
Chateau Tronquoy-Lalande 2001, Cru Bourgeois Superieurs St. Estephe, EUR 9 in "Netto". Even though this wine wasn't really ready to drink, I had to try it. The wine was nearly black with a powerful bouquet of berries. The wine was decanted some hours before it was enjoyed. It was a harmonious and well made wine, with a great taste of fresh berries. It was absolutely a powering wine, which will keep it alive in many years. The wine though is nice already, but will certainly improve in about 5-8 years time. It was a great St. Estèphe wine to a good price. Buy now! 9*
Chateau Begadanet 1993, Cru Bourgeois Medoc. This older Medoc wine had a clear rusty red colour and a matured bouquet. It was an easy and ready to drink wine. Perhaps it was a bit over the hill. It had a soft taste of matured berries. Ok wine, but truly kept to long! 8
Chateau Rose Saint-Croix 1998, Listrac, EUR 6,5 at "Magasin" some years ago. This wine had an intense red colour and an anonym bouquet. It was a soft and medium body wine with a kind of dusty taste of earth, without much fruit. It was not a very interesting wine. I still got one bottle, but hopefully it will turn out to be a bit fruitier. 7
Chateau Meyre 1998, Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc, EUR 6 at "Irma" some weeks ago. This Haut Medoc wine had a nice red colour and a fresh bouquet of berries. This Cru Bourgeois wine was well made and in good balance. The taste was classic with a fine taste of blackcurrant. The wine is drinkable now, but will improve if stored a year or two more. It was really a nice glass of wine to a very good price! 9
Chateau La Croix Des Bernedes 2000, Medoc. Three bottles for EUR 13,5 at "Lyngby Supermarked" in 2002. This cheap Medoc wine from the great vintage 200, had a good red colour and a nice bouquet of berries. It was a soft and delicious wine with a good spicy and fruity taste. The wine is ready to drink now. A good and cheap wine! 8

Chateau Hanteillan 1994, Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc, EUR 7 in "Netto" some years ago. This matured wine from the village of Cissac in Haut Medoc, had a nice red colour with a matured colour too and a fine bouquet. It was a harmonious soft wine, which was full matured. The wine had a pleasant taste of forest berries. It was a fine 11 year old Cru Bourgeois, from a rather difficult vintage year. 8
Chateau Leboscq 2003, Cru Bourgeois Medoc, EUR 8 at "Fakta" This great wine from the excellent vintages 2003 had an intense dark red colour and a nice fruity bouquet. The wine was voluminous and powerful with a good taste of berries. The wine can be enjoyed now after a decanting, but will improve the next 5-10 years. A great buy now! 9

Vieux Chateau Groupey 1997, Pomerol, EUR 10,50 in "Magasin" some years ago. This fine Pomerol wine had a nice deep red colour and a good berry and fruit bouquet. It was a fresh and tasty wine, a bit thin although. The taste was very harmonious with a delicious taste of fruit and berries. The wine is ready to drink now. The vintage 1997 was not the best one in Bordeaux, and the wines should not be kept long, as they had nearly no tannin. This Pomerol though was really nice and the price was affordable too. 9
Medalla Real 2000, Santa Rita "Casa Real" EUR 14 in "SuperBest". This "Casa Real" was not relished as a Casa Real, but actually it was what there was in the bottle! The wine had an intense dark violet colour and a great bouquet of berries. It was a heavy wine, with lots of power and a great long spicy and fruity taste. Really it was a great wine from Chile. 9*
Chateau D'Agassac 1995, Cru Bourgeois, Haut Medoc, EUR 8 in "Fotex" about 7 years ago. A long time ago I had bought some of these great Cru Bourgeois, so now it was time to taste it. The wine had a very intense deep red colour and a great fruity bouquet! It was a harmonious full body wine with a great character and it was truly a pleasure to drink. The wine had a powerful taste of berries, herbs and a bit of liquorice. Even though it was a superb wine now, it was not fully matured. I guess the wine will keep on developing 5-8 years more. It was a top Cru Bourgeois from the great vintage 1995. 10
Crozes Hermitage 2001, EUR 5,0 in "Netto". Wines from this area in Rhone are difficult to find in the supermarket, and this wine was quickly sold out. The wine had a fine purple colour and a good berry bouquet. It was a medium wine, which is made out of 100 % syrah grapes. The Wine was delicious with a soft taste of fruits and berries. Chateau Clos Des Menuts 1997, Saint-Emilion, Grand Cru. This Saint Emilion wine, from the minor vintage, had a nice red colour and a fruity bouquet. The wine was indeed very fat, which is not normal from wines from this vintage. It was a good classic Saint Emilion with a sweet taste of berries.9
Chateau Tour De Pez 1996, Cru Bourgeois, Saint-Estèphe. EUR 15 on the ferry between Finland and Sweden in 2001. I do fancy the masculine wines from Saint-Estèphe, and this one was just like that!
