The 1855 Classification in Medoc

The 1855-Classificationen in the Medoc area in Bordeaux is split into 5 different classes. In those five classes you will find some of the world's best and most estimated red wines. The Classification has not change much since 1855, and only Château Mouton-Rothschild had been reclassified into the first growth in 1973. Today most of the Chateau's make wines which are worth their Classification of 1855, but not all. From about 1990 though, the interest for the exclusive wines have been enormous and most of the Chateau's makes wonderful wines worth their Classification today.
